I am Keyvan Jafari, an Iranian photographer and visual storyteller with over ten years of professional experience in news, documentary, and social photography. My work focuses on real life: people, cities, history, and the fragile relationship between humans and their environment. Through my camera, I try to document moments that are not only visually strong, but also meaningful and thought-provoking.
My background is in cinema and photography. I first studied cinematography (film shooting) at diploma level and then completed my bachelor’s degree in photography. Since then, I have worked with different news agencies and media outlets, and I have gained experience in news photography, documentary photography, architecture, nature, street photography, portrait, and social documentary projects.
Over the years, my photographs have been exhibited in national and international festivals, printed in books and catalogues, and presented in group and solo exhibitions. My main interest is documentary and social photography, especially where image meets social issues, history, culture, and the environment. I see photography as a way to ask questions, not to give easy answers.
In my personal projects, I often explore themes such as everyday life, migration, identity, urban spaces, architecture, and environmental crises. I aim to create images that invite the viewer to look more carefully at the world, to feel empathy, and to reflect on what is happening around us.

درباره من – کیوان جعفری، عکاس
من کیوان جعفری هستم؛ عکاس و روایتگر بصری از ایران، با بیش از ده سال تجربه حرفهای در عکاسی خبری، عکاسی مستند و عکاسی اجتماعی. محور اصلی کار من «زندگی واقعی» است: آدمها، شهرها، تاریخ و رابطه شکننده انسان با محیطزیست. تلاش میکنم با دوربینم لحظاتی را ثبت کنم که فقط از نظر بصری قوی نباشند، بلکه معنا و پرسش در خودشان داشته باشند.
پیشزمینه من در سینما و عکاسی است. ابتدا در مقطع دیپلم در رشته سینما (گرایش فیلمبرداری) تحصیل کردم و بعد کارشناسی عکاسی گرفتم. از آن زمان با خبرگزاریها و رسانههای مختلف همکاری کردهام و در زمینههای عکاسی خبری، عکاسی مستند، عکاسی معماری، عکاسی طبیعت، عکاسی خیابانی، پرتره و مستند اجتماعی تجربه حرفهای کسب کردهام.
در طول این سالها، عکسهایم در جشنوارههای ملی و بینالمللی به نمایش درآمده، در کتابها و کاتالوگها چاپ شده و در قالب نمایشگاههای گروهی و انفرادی ارائه شده است. تمرکز اصلی من عکاسی مستند و اجتماعی است؛ جایی که تصویر با مسائل اجتماعی، تاریخ، فرهنگ و محیطزیست گره میخورد. برای من، عکاسی بیشتر راهی برای «سؤال پرسیدن» است تا دادن جوابهای ساده.
در پروژههای شخصیام اغلب به موضوعاتی مثل زندگی روزمره، مهاجرت، هویت، فضاهای شهری، معماری و بحرانهای زیستمحیطی میپردازم. هدفم این است که تصاویری بسازم که مخاطب را به تماشای دقیقتر جهان، همدلی، و تأمل درباره آنچه در اطرافش میگذرد دعوت کند.
